# User Deposits & Shares

Nashpoint Nodes implement the [ERC-4626](https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-4626) standard for deposits, enabling users to seamlessly deposit assets and receive standardized shares representing their proportional ownership in the Node's underlying investments.

When you deposit funds into Nashpoint, you receive shares representing your stake in the overall strategy. You can either specify exactly how many assets you'd like to deposit and receive the corresponding number of shares, or specify the number of shares you'd like to receive, and NashPoint calculates the required asset deposit. The flexibility allows users to choose based on convenience or specific investment goals.

**ERC-4626**: A standardized tokenized vault interface that simplifies deposits, withdrawals, and asset valuations across DeFi protocols.

**Deposit**: Use the `deposit()` function to specify exactly how many assets you'd like to deposit; Nashpoint calculates how many shares you'll receive.

**Mint**: Use the `mint()` where you specify exactly how many shares you want; Nashpoint calculates how many assets you'll need to deposit.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://nashpoint.gitbook.io/nashpoint/user-documentation/user-deposits-and-shares.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
